The Post-Graduation course, Master of Computer Applications (MCA), affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, has initiated its task of emerging Post-Graduates from DVR & Dr. HS MIC College of Technology from the year 2004. Initially this course was a part of Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) for a period of two years i.e. from 2004-2006, but since the academic year 2006, it is being identified individually as MCA with a separate PG department. 2006-2007 will be the first year of emerging out-going batch of Post Graduates from our college.

Towards the contribution of services to the college, the Departments of MCA and CSE have recently inaugurated a Students Association called “FACT” by Dr.T.S.Hanuman Chowdary - Director, Center for Telecommunications Management and Studies, on 2^nd September 2006. The Department has its involvement in the FACT activities. The students are guided and encouraged by the faculty to actively participate and win in all the competitions conducted within and outside the college. Also, FACT has its plan to organize regular sessions, Guest Lectures, Workshops and even competitions to students to achieve its objectives.

As the department has formed very recently, the team-oriented aspirations and functions of the department results in future enhancements and fruitful achievements.

The Department has framed up its own objectives:

Team-Heading Capacity: To make the student to be self-confident and bold enough to face the society and to inculcate positive attitude, to develop team management and to be sportive in today's competitive world.

Short-span Settlement: To impart knowledge with equal importance on theory and practicals to build up their own innovative ideas which shows an immediate way of settlement after completing the course.

Continuous-Learning Process: To guide the students get an attitude of updating the knowledge by continuous learning process to polish them towards research-oriented tasks.

These objectives have its blend with the main Quality Policy of the College - To achieve the customer satisfaction by providing the quality education with global outlook and by bridging the gap between industry and institution.
